In order to understand the research status both at home and abroad, and to deepen the study of relevant theory, the author consult more than 50 articles from some relevant books, documents and research papers, with some key words like “interest”, “interest in learning”, “middle school students’ interest in learning English”. Besides, the author also made some records and analysis by observing the performance of middle school students in English learning, and summed up some specific strategies to improve students’ English leaning interest. The school the author interned is in a county. In the course of teaching, the author found most of the students have some problems in learning English. And these problems are mainly caused by students’ learning interest. Thus, according to the usual performance of students in the classroom, the author gave them the corresponding strategies and recorded their development and changes. As a result, the author decided to choose this topic for further study to improve the teaching effectiveness of English teaching and learning. By using the methods of literature, observation and case analysis, the paper will analyze the influential factors of middle school students’ interest in learning English from the aspect of students, teachers and subject, and conclude some ways to arouse students’ interest.
